About Nick

Nick grew up in Easton, MA where he was a great son, brother, friend, and leader. Nick lived a life of love and devotion towards his family, friends, and the countless people whom he encouraged along the way. His compassion, sense of humor, honesty, strength, and his ever present smile are only some of the qualities that combined to make him a truly great young man.

Carroll School

Nick was affected by dyslexia. After sixth-grade in the Easton Public School system, Nick transferred to the Carroll School to seek more hands-on attention to his everyday struggles with reading. At the Carroll School, Nick made friends quickly and stood out to his teachers. He also became aware of his learning differences and what effort he had to make. He worked with his tutor on fluency and began to use his strategies consistently in all his classes. His improved fluency helped his reading comprehension and he was quick to perceive the themes of the novels in his language classes. His love of history was evident from the moment he walked into classes. With the proper attention and resources, Nick made great strides – joining in on discussions and sharing his own knowledge.

Athletics

Nick was a born athlete with tremendous skills. He was gifted in many sports and was Athlete of the Year at Carroll School. He transferred back to the Easton Public Schools in his sophomore year, excelling in the classroom and on the field. While at OA, Nick played varsity soccer, track and field, and basketball. Nick was named Captain of both his track and field and basketball teams.

“Most Likely To Change The World”

Throughout his time at Oliver Ames High School, Nick maintained a 3.0 average. In 2004, the senior class recognized his versatility, skills, and determination when they voted him, “The person most likely to change the world.” He went on to UMass Boston, where he was majoring in history and was on the Dean’s List.
